- How do I know if my collar is fitting correctly?
Once you slip the collar over your dog's head tighten the collar with the slider until it is snug but not tight. If you can slide two fingers in between the collar and the neck it is fitting well.

Martingale collars are great for this because they provide gentle, Do even pressure on the dogs neck but do not choke or cause pain. The fabric is soft so it will not dig into your dog's neck but the gentle pressure is a deterrent from pulling.
- How can I train my dog using a martingale collar?
Simply using one while going for walks will deter pulling because as the dog pulls ahead the collar gently tightens. If you are trying to correct certain behaviors keep your dog on a short leash while walking and when correcting a behavior gently pull up with the leash and say "No" or another verbal cue. Martingale collars are recommended by dog trainers.
- Do Greyhounds and Whippets need special collars?
Yes. Martingale collars are excellent options for greyhounds (and the whole sighthound gang), offering a unique design that gently prevents their thin heads from sliding free – especially those with a natural inclination to chase. Because of their thick neck and skinny head they can slip right out of a normal collar and good luck catching them!! Harnesses are another option but they encourage pulling as dogs enjoy the feeling of pulling something and the pressure against their chest, where Martingale collars discourage pulling.
- Can any breed wear a Martingale Collar?
Absolutely! They are great from preventing any dog from slipping out of their collar and they are also used to help train all breeds.
